a community art gathering
Placeholder is a community art gathering designed for community activation through interactive art events by and for the local residents of New Orleans Lower Ninth Ward. Presented by the Center for Sustainable Engagement and Development and BODYART Dance, and facilitated by Tulane Mellon Fellow, Rachel Slater, this event is free and open to all. Placeholder honors the historical and cultural significance of the community's lost spaces, and amplifies the ability to collectively speak on a sustainable future. We are honored to present original work by Lower Ninth Ward artists Alina Allen, Jason Meserole, Lissie Stewart and SWINE, with music by Geovane Santos.
